The 5 KM Night Race offers a unique opportunity to experience the enchanting desert atmosphere under a canopy of stars. This event brings the magic of our renowned Oman Desert Marathon’s night stage to Muscat, allowing participants to discover what it feels like to run in the desert after dark.

About the Race
As part of our commitment to the local community, this race proudly supports the Environment Society of Oman. The Oman Desert Marathon has always been more than just a race—it’s a celebration of Oman’s natural beauty and a gathering of people who share a deep love for this remarkable country. Through this night race, we aim to raise awareness and inspire participants to help protect and conserve our precious natural heritage. A portion of the race proceeds will be donated directly to the Environment Society of Oman to support their vital conservation work.
Location & Training

ODM Run Club
Our expert-led training sessions combine track and trail running to help you improve your technique while connecting with fellow running enthusiasts. Each session location will be shared via WhatsApp reminder (group is for updates only, not general chat).

6:00 PM – Arrival and parking
6:10 PM – Equipment check and water bottle filling at aid station
6:30 PM – Visit Race Village tents
6:45 PM – Pre-race briefing
6:50 PM – Warm-up with ODM coach
7:00 PM – Race start – Run or walk under the stars!
8:00 PM – Prize ceremony
9:00 PM – Event closing
Course Details
The course follows a compact trail path that ventures into sand dunes toward the finish. The route will be clearly marked with volunteer support and first aid assistance throughout to ensure participant safety. Two aid stations will be available: one at the start/finish line and another at the 2.5 KM mark for water refills.
Race Rules & Requirements
- Minimum age: 15 years
- Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- Mandatory equipment: Headlamp and reusable water bottle
- Water refill stations available at start/finish and 2.5 KM mark
Parking
Event parking is located approximately 200 meters from the race start. Due to limited space, carpooling with other participants is strongly encouraged. A short walk from the parking area leads to the starting point.
